Igniting passion, achieving excellence

Welcome to Eastern Flames, a pioneering women’s football club ignited by passion in 2006. Founded by Kaye Smith amid challenges to women’s sports, it now shines as a regional powerhouse, redefining the game in Saudi Arabia.

ABOUT

From humble beginnings in Aramco’s community, Eastern Flames overcame early challenges in recruiting players and coaches. Through hosting tournaments and fostering dedication, the team steadily built its foundation.

In 2014, under new leadership by Maram Al Butairi and co-manager Karina Chapa, the Flames adopted a forward-thinking approach. Joining the Arsenal Soccer School Cup in Bahrain, they faced setbacks with resilience, returning stronger each season and expanding their impact.

The Eastern Flames aimed beyond regional success, striving for broader competition. In 2020, they made history by joining the Gulf Cooperation Council tournament, facing tough opponents and gaining invaluable experience. Their journey continued with back-to-back victories in the Eastern Region League in 2020 and 2021, securing a spot in the Women’s SAFF National League.

Eastern Flames is more than a football club, it’s a beacon of resilience, progress, and the indomitable spirit of women in sports. Join us as we shatter barriers, inspire change, and redefine the game.
